As the election aftermath continues to play out in the media ecosystem, and the schadenfreude of seeing liberal tears once more brings a smile to my face, I’ve been on the hunt for liberal introspection more than I have anything else. So far I’ve been greatly unimpressed, and I have witnessed the multitudes of regime media types and those associated with major network outlets like Joy Reid of MSNBC melodramatically announce that they are leaving for Bluesky and no longer posting on Twitter.
While it has been humorous to watch the progressive apparatchiks digitally take their toys and go home pouting after losing, the overall reaction to this election of Donald Trump to the presidency isn’t like the first time in the 2016 election. Yes, there have been libtard tears, and yes, there has been a great deal of coping and seething and dilating, but I haven’t seen the energy emerge to riot and burn down city blocks, let alone don a giant pink pussycat hat. Perhaps that will come closer to the inauguration, and Lord only knows what might come on January 6, 2025. There has been this surprising lack of energy from the Left, but then again, they are indeed still reeling from losing every swing state and the Electoral College vote.
And it is that popular vote question that has left many on Twitter, Bluesky, and other social media platforms demanding to know where the millions of Democrat voters disappeared from the 2020 to the 2024 election. After all, Joe Biden was the most popular president in the history of American politics.
Much as in the far-off theories that were meant to tarnish the legitimate concerns about ballot harvesting, unsecure chains of custody for ballots, and extrajudicial changing of election rules without the consent of the governed or the legislature actually changing the laws, the Left has gone for the straight-up bizarre to explain their Brat’s electoral beating. The Schmittian state of exception was certainly taken advantage of in the previous election, and ballot harvesting still certainly took place in this election cycle as well.
