Traditions are the formal behaviors forged over millennia to guide human instincts into the most productive expression. This is why all cultures have traditions for the same contingencies although they vary with local flavors and colors. Christianity gave European traditions an exalted formation and pioneering America brought them to the most agreeable character. As an OK Boomer I grew up when Americana still flourished and I am truly nostalgic. The dismissal and attack on tradition in our times has allowed us to understand their importance and value. I believe we will be able to return to a traditional society as most yearn for this necessary guidance and we will cherish them all the more and in their renewed form will be more fitting for the coming tech era.
Thanks again guys for publishing my schizophrenic rantings!
@Charles Carroll: curious based on your profile name, are you from Maryland? If so, is there an OGC chapter set up here? Would love to get involved
Naw from Michigan. I’d say reach out to the OGC and see if they have a chapter near by though!
