Nice Eulogy. This is exactly the sort of reason I live among the chuds. I will take a little naivety and paranoia over the overly mannered corruption of woke urbanite products of 21st century Universities.

I concur. I am British and the same dynamic plays out over here. The transatlantic cousins of those hillbillies and rednecks are still going strong, and they have a lot more common sense than arts graduates who read the Guardian or NYT.

This was well done. A fitting eulogy for a great character/archetype.

I didn’t realize Dale’s voice had been silenced. Hadn’t watched that show in years but it’s one of my favorites as well. Mike Judge sure knew how to create and develop characters. I’ve been wanting to see Tales from the Tour Bus as that looks it could be fun.

There needs to be another Pareto animal. The great American crank (this is a compliment) is neither fox, nor lion.

Thank you. You broke the hard news like a man.

And then you set me down like a friend.

I grew up in Arlen. My wife and I used to time it so that we opened our beers at the exact moment Dale and friends opened theirs when the show started each week. RIP Dale Gribble

Dale was so hilarious. Sad to know his voice actor died. King of the Hill is still the best anime.

Dale was also a prophet of his time, as Mike Judge certainly is as well. He predicted the rise of technocratic oversight, in the funniest possible way, in the episode where Arlen Video accused Hank of not returning a porno(one of the funniest episodes of TV I've ever seen). Dale owned his own business as he hated bureaucracy and the drone like nature of corporate america, as detailed in the episode where he has to give up exterminating, a theme that Judge returns to over and over again throughout all his work, most notably Office Space. I always loved the subtle ways in which Dale would talk shit to Peggy, his dislike of her was very funny in contrast to Bill's love of her.

“ However, Dale reminds me of a good-hearted man at my Church, who in his old age takes care of an adoptive daughter from a bad upbringing.”

Aww, that’s very sweet.

I remember asking on 4chan’s comics & cartoons board someone redraw “the only thing the establishment truly fears” meme but with Huey Freeman from The Boondocks and Dale Gribble.

Question: How do you find a chapter near you? I'd love to get in touch with local OGC members!

Thanks!
