I just watched a video where a sports talking head named nick wright just said "i don't think that anyone believes that joe biden is really corrupt". My entire mood is a fedpost against that America.
Most Americans are little more than preprogrammed default liberals. They consume the general narrative like baby formula and no amount of corruption, incompetence and fuckery by the establishment will phase them because they only hold one thought in their minds:
Left = Good
Not Left = Evil Incarnate
To many generations of Americans have been successfully programmed and said programming exists everywhere.
Most normies may never wake up. The Matrix was a documentary.
It's the way people are. We're the disagreeable weirdos with something wrong with us. Good Germans, Good Soviets, Good Brits, Good Romans...shit's always the majority and the normal programming.
If a guy like us ends up winning, all these good libs will be good whatever the fuck we are.
I thought I had exited when I moved into a small town in northern Michigan with 300 people, two bars, two churches, a post office and a dollar store. No traffic lights in the whole county, seeing bears on a pretty regular basis, paradise, right? Well the first sign of trouble was this summer when I went into a local beach town on lake Michigan and saw a giant rainbow billboard with the dreaded words about "equity and inclusion." Ok, but it's a half hour drive away, right? The last straw was yesterday morning when I went to hike by a trout stream in a tiny undeveloped park and there was an encampment of degenerates back there, they left literally dozens of little waded up pieces of TP along the trail that I didn't want to know what was on them. They had deliberately gunned their dirt bikes to leave foot deep ruts on the road and the trails. Enough! I called in the Forest Service to have them cleared out, something I never would have dreamed of 5 years ago when like you I was a Mises camp big L lolbertrain. Obviously muh anti-state is not going to cut it anymore. I am going to move, maybe buy a nice motorhome and go on the road. Fortunately this area is becoming popular with down state yuppies and also now degenerates, so I can get a good price for my house. But it's sad to me the break down of America is forcing me out of an area where I love the wilderness, and the house I thought I was going to die in. :-(
This why I’m staying put in California. I from & spent most of my life in LA, but we moved to Orange County a few years
ago. I’d say it’s “conservative” in my bubble by California standards, though the leftists rot is ever spreading. That said, we’re a 1.5 miles from a beautiful beach and frankly, I love it here.
This dialectic reminds me of Curtis Yarvin's idea of "Hobbit Culture" and "Elf Culture". The latter is haute couter in the eyes of the so-called educated, elite, and urbane. The former is the "low" culture of the bulk of the country, typified by this provincial nature and desire to be left alone. Hobbits don't want to enforce hobbit culture on others, they're simply content to be left alone and do as they please within hobbit culture. Elves, on the other hand, believe they are inherently superior or above hobbit culture, and seek to enforce elf culture on hobbits. But would a hobbit ever enjoy, or even succeed or thrive, while living under a culture fundamentally at odds with their biology? And, if that sounds hyperbolic, I'd make the honest argument that I'm not sure we're really all that biologically adapted to "elf habitats", if an elf habitat is the trash-ridden concrete dystopias of New York or San Francisco.
It's a pretty useful metaphor, I've found, especially when trying to explain it to those who just... haven't quite cued into things, yet.
When I say "educated" for the elf side, I preface it with "so-called" because, time and time again, they've explicitly demonstrated that critical thinking is not their strong suite, and no amount of degrees or certifications will ever boost their actual intelligence.
I'd say that anyone who doesn't engage in "elf culture" regardless of their credentials, class, or physical location, is still a hobbit, i.e., a brain surgeon in Manhattan with no desire to play into DEI and politically libertarian or conservative would still be a "hobbit", and an unemployed antifa goon in their parent's basement in a town of 2,000 in rural Ohio would still be an "elf". So, I'd still say hobbit.
I am not sure it's quite that simple. I like to listen to weird electronic and dissonant music from around the world and I know who Curtis Yarvin is, that means I have literally no one to talk to in this neck of the woods. All my social life is online which is unsatisfying at best. I am not really a Hobbit, and I hate the Elves, now what?
You may be what Yarvin referred to in that essay as a dark elf. Which breaks a bit from the Tolkienesque metaphor. But what it means basically is that while you are an elf, you see that the other elves are poisonous to the hobbits, and it's your job to stand up for them, if you'll have it.
I read the essay and that doesn’t apply either as dark elves are coastal elites with connections and money and power. I have none of those, I am a hermit with no connections living under the poverty line in a 650 sq foot retrofitted summer cottage. I really think unlike his “Cathedral” concept that this is full of fail. His Gray Mirror stuff just doesn’t impress me as much as Unqualified Reservations. IMO he is kind of a one trick pony, his trick was a good one, but now he is coasting on past glory and the Dissident Right has moved on with more interesting new thinkers like The Prudentalist and The Distributist.
I agree with all of that. He seems to be trying to thread a needle of how to fix modernity without violence or lawlessness, and some of the ideas he has offered and the metaphors he's resorting to are more fictional than the peasant revolt he rejects.
That's not an answer, that's wishful thinking. Just like it's wishful thinking to wait for a collapse that will somehow pan out in the favor of those who are libertarians at heart for approximately three seconds before power is reconsolidated. No. Wake up, for your sake and the rest of ours. Unity grants strength. To organize people in a better way than the current regime does is the answer, and is what will grant those who lead this better way the power to shape the world in their favor.
The Germanics had it right. They could organize themselves better than any other peoples due to who they were. The solution is for some subset of European peoples to do the same, except win this time. Leveraging our innate qualities and shared history to organize in a way the southern peoples couldn't hope to is the path to power and revitalization.
What that looks like in practice I'm unfortunately not gifted enough to say. It's something that evolves as is necessary. What remains constant however is the drive for a world that values our innate qualities over all others, and the ability for that world to stand against those who'd insist otherwise. Lucky for us, our innate qualities are fair, just, and true, while our enemies are sick and twisted. Don't be fooled into thinking such a thing is relative. What is relative is that everyone desires power; what is objective is that we are by far the better stewards of power.
I thought so too for a long time. I don't think so anymore both yuppie bugmen and hard drug using degenerates are flooding into my county with 11,000 people and no traffic lights. There is no escape other than maybe staying constantly on the move which I am considering, just retiring early and living out of a motor home in campgrounds.
Someone just called me out on Quora for saying that the culture the in upper Midwest has not essentially changed since at least WWII, possibly the late 19th century. Fool told me I must be living in under a rock, saying Wisconsin "used to be a progressive state." I thought a lot about this and stand by my original point. Superficial things change--cars look different, more of them, cities and towns fade, new suburbs built--but surprisingly, the people embrace change very slowly, and no, outside of Madison and some urban centers people are not progressive. They are working family and community people. I don't foresee anything changing this.
Ironically, or perhaps fittingly, whether the desire is there or not, they're aware the solution to our problems is to hatch some kind of fascist plot to subjugate the bugmen in perpetuity.
“Reeducated or Crushed” struck me as a difference with little distinction as “reeducation” is a spiritual & psychological crushing unto itself. Obviously being put against the wall is somewhat worse, but...
OK, someone bring me up to speed on “Bugman”. I assume it’s either a reference to the “hive mind”mentality of leftists or is it something I’m missing?
tl;dr, a small-souled prog drone. The type that reads IFLS unironically, and thinks technology grows on an infinite exponential curve until one day, sooner than you think, he'll get to spend his life plugged into a VR headset with a tube coming out both ends, living in a virtual paradise while robots do all the real-world work.
> OK, someone bring me up to speed on “Bugman”. I assume it’s either a reference to the “hive mind”mentality of leftists or is it something I’m missing?
Basically. With some additional connotations of eating bugs. In any case, it somehow seems appropriate. In 1984, Orwell describes the somewhat dumb good party members as "beetle-like".

So was Idiocracy.
Haha. I often say that Idiocracy was reality TV while The Matrix was a documentary.

Yeah I am all out of patience and ready to sign up for my arm band, if you catch my drift.
Wait until you hear about Canada.
Seconded.

This is not a problem that you can run away from.
It says I blocked you, but I can still see your posts? WTF????
I keep trying to run away from you, I thought I had blocked your useless non productive bullshit, why am I seeing your posts? Let me try again.

Cali that's rough man, I have lived in San Francisco and Humboldt, good luck with that one.

I compare the Left to Orcs moreso than the Elves !!!
It has it's limits though. Where do educated rednecks of which I consider myself one fit into that schema?
When I say "educated" for the elf side, I preface it with "so-called" because, time and time again, they've explicitly demonstrated that critical thinking is not their strong suite, and no amount of degrees or certifications will ever boost their actual intelligence.

At least, that's the way that I see it.

Maybe you’re a Ranger, haha
???
like Aragorn

This is why I believe Regionalism is the answer, although since the bug men won't leave us alone that probably won't be for awhile.
That's not an answer, that's wishful thinking. It should be noted, I'm not calling for Balkanization just decentralization, but that's probably not going to happen. I am just wishful thinking.
Don't get me wrong, I sympathize.

> Fool told me I must be living in under a rock, saying Wisconsin "used to be a progressive state."
Well 19th century progressivism is now called "far right".
Agreed. Fightin' Bob LaFollette and the Progressives were the original "America Firsters"
> True progress can only be made within the parameters you designate and according to the ethos you hold dear.
False. True progress can only be made based on the Good, the Beautiful, and the True, no matter what parameters you designate.
I agree. These are Platonic concepts and we need to return to Plato. Ethos, Logos and Pathos.
Ironically, or perhaps fittingly, whether the desire is there or not, they're aware the solution to our problems is to hatch some kind of fascist plot to subjugate the bugmen in perpetuity.

Thanks. I’ve read ‘1984’ twice and still missed the reference.
