Great article. It’s true, the idea that Milennials will never become adults is ingrained in us. Frankly, it’s terrible. I work around many boomers, and they treat me like a child. Doing my best to help out the zoomers with any advice I can give them.
They really do, don't they. They had to become adults on their own (albeit helped by a period of relative prosperity and less hostile a culture) which might be part of why they don't have an understanding of what it means to turn a son into a man. They want to stay connected to their children unlike their parents, but are unaware, too self-centered, and too deferential to the matriarch's doting to think it was their duty to facilitate this change, especially when remaining connected with one's children. Otherwise you get perpetual dependents, confused why they're not being given a chance to prove themselves. Offered the opportunity to stagnate at home or climb a mountain in hostile territory with no instruction or gear, it should be no surprise what happens on net.
When confronted about this, that things need to change not individually but holistically, one is met with a blank face, mouth agape: "Why should I need to change?" It turns out their misplaced goodwill largely served to make it harder for us to take matters into our own hands, which must be done regardless.
Great point about how Millennial Men need to start building their own institutions. I've worked in nothing but longhouses. Every job has been soul sucking and has led to a malaise in my own life. Inspiring article.
Good essay! You make a good point about the coddling of Boomer parents and PC (now woke) policies feminizing the institutions. This led to a delayed maturity and a reluctance to hit those adulthood milestones like marriage and kids. In this last point though, just think how onerous stupid Boomer helicopter parents have made parenting. Safetyism and self-esteem boosting have made children a massive drag instead of a worthwhile and fulfilling sacrifice.
You forgot to add that this generation was the first to get heavily medicated and effectively sedated. This has had made them soft, squishy, uncreative, and humorless as adults. But they have college diplomas and plenty of debt!
I think the best thing about my generation are the Marvel movies (before Endgame), avocado toast, Starbucks, and Coldplay. Otherwise they’re the most annoying by far.
Then again, that’s probably better than being selfish like the Boomers, hypocritical like the Xers, and stupid like the Zoomers.

Honestly, there's enough material to write a book on Millennials, but as a way of telling their story. There's a book titled "How Not To Be A Millennial," but it was written by a Gen. Xer and looks at data and stats, not narrative or the perspective of our generation.
The other thing that has to be mentioned is the extent to which Millennial women were raised to see Millennial men as enemies/opponents/competitors/rivals and pitted against them. There are now a significant amount of those Millennial women who are not married and childless, and it's going to have enormous social, cultural, and political consequences as they enter middle age and hold a greater amount of institutional power than their Millennial male peers who have been effectively ostracized in those institutions.
I don't see generation as a good filter. What you need is people with wealth and influence. Seems pretty obvious, doesn't it? Well ... how do you get the attention of people with wealth and influence?

Do what people always do as empires fall; build in the ruins for the coming glory. For the next one.
Deus vult.
I see opportunities for Millennial men in regenerative farming and alternative schooling models.
